Nandi hills

Nandi hills is very popular weekend destination for Banglore people. It got amazing hills that can be treak in a day. Bhoga Nandeeshwara temple, at the bottom of hills is the starting point for the trecking Nandi hills in Karnataka. Sasank Ande visited Nandi hills during weekend trip starting from Bangalore.













Halebidu

Halebidu and Belur temples were built during Rule of King Vishuvardhana (900 years ago around 1160AD) and his wife Shantaladevi. 
Halebidu was the capital of Hoysala empire during 12th and 13th century. 
They built these temples to support the Hindu tradition (under the guidance of Sri Ramanujacharya) as it was the time of Mughal rule invading india
These two temples are star shaped if you see it from aerial view 
Hoysaleshwara and Kedareshwara temples are major attraction in Halebidu



Belur

Halebidu and Belur temples were built during Rule of King Vishuvardhana (900 years ago) and his wife Shantaladevi of the Hoysala Empire.
The temple is one of the finest examples of Hoysala architecture. It was built by king Vishnuvardhana in commemoration of his victory over the Cholas at Talakad in 1117 CE. Legend has it that it took 103 years to complete and Vishnuvardhana's grandson Veera Ballala II completed the task.

D. Belur has 42 stones carved especially for dancing statues of ladies each depicting different poses of Bharatanatyam

Bhoga Nandeeshwara temple, Nandi Hills

Bhoga Nandeeshwara temple is located at the base of Nandi hills in Karnataka. Sasank Ande visited Nandi hills during weekend trip starting from Bangalore. This temples are dated back to 9th century built during Nolamba dynasty.

Shravanabelagola

The statue of Gommateshvara Bahubali at Shravanabelagola is one of the most important tirthas (pilgrimage destinations) in Jainism, one that reached a peak in architectural and sculptural activity under the patronage of  Western Ganga dynasty of Talakad. It is situated in the state of Karnataka, India. 


Hampi

Group of Monuments at Hampi are listed in UNESCO World Heritage SiteThe first historical settlements in Hampi date back to 1 CE. Hampi formed one of the core areas of the capital of the Vijayanagara Empire from 1336 to 1565, when it was finally laid siege to by the Deccan Muslim confederacy. Hampi was chosen because of its strategic location, bounded by the torrential Tungabhadra river on one side and surrounded by defensible hills on the other three sides.
